Overview
Bulb Bearing Water Hemlock (Cicuta bulbifera) is a plant species found near streams, ponds, and marshy areas in North America. This perennial plant has sparsely branched stems and feathery leaves that grow in an alternate arrangement. In the summer, it is topped with a dry, ovoid, grey-green head filled with leafy bracts and numerous seeds. The plant also produces underground bulbils. The root is highly toxic and carrying a slight smell of parsnip. It blooms from June to August, during which the yellow flowers of this species attract different types of insects.
