Carex brunnescens subsp. brunnescens
Overview
Brownish Sedge (Carex brunnescens subsp. brunnescens) is a perennial grass-like species with a semi-erect to prostrate growth habit. It is native to wetlands and bog areas in Europe, Greenland, and North America and can tolerate different soil types. It typically grows to a height of 8-14 inches and has distinctive brownish or copper colored foliage. The flowers are very small, usually yellow or brown, and grow in clusters above the foliage.
