Overview
Intermediate Sedge (Carex media) is a species of flowering plant found throughout North America. It grows in moist meadows, wet forests and along wet soils near water. Its stems are fine and upright, and grow up to 1.5 meters in height. The foliage consists of long, thin, intensoid leaves, and the foliage is straw-colored. Their flowers are 6–12 mm long, and range in color from green to reddish-brown. They provide food and shelter for a variety of mammals, birds and insects.
