Overview
Greenish White Sedge is an evergreen perennial grass native to the eastern United States. This species forms small tufts of upright blades of grass topped with distinctive pointed tips. Each culm is 5 to 10 inches long and is marked by a central vein running down the middle. Its leaves are linear and bright green in the center, fading to white at the margins. Its small flowers are dense and clustered in a distinctive flowerhead. The flowers are creamy white when open and greenish-white when closed. This species is found in moist meadows, wetlands, and wooded areas and is suited to wetter soils. Its unique foliage makes it an attractive addition to any landscape.
