Overview
Gardner's Saltbush (Atriplex gardneri var. gardneri) is a perennial shrub native to the dry western areas of North America. Its thick, woody stems are covered with small, finely dissected leaves, providing a dense, bushy form. This species ranges in height from 1-3 feet, and the branches are covered with small yellow flowers and spiney fruits. It is highly adaptable, tolerating a wide range of soils and water levels, making it a great option for xeriscaping and other low-water landscaping. Gardner’s Saltbush is also drought and cold tolerant, and requires minimal maintenance to remain healthy.
