The Horn-Seed Buttercup (Ceratocephala testiculata) is an attractive flowering plant with heart-shaped leaves. The flowers are bright yellow and have five petals that each end in a sharp point. These flowers can be seen in open woodlands, meadows, and roadsides and, once established, are quite hardy and drought resistant. Its namesake, thehorn-seeds, are found in deep in its seed capsules and are believed to deter predators and provide a unique dispersal mechanism.
