During the growing season, water Sedge (Carex siderosticha 'Banana Boat') at least once a week. It should be watered deeply, soaking the soil to a depth of 12 inches (30 cm). During hot weather, increase watering to twice per week. In winter, reduce the watering to only once during longer dry spells, leaving the soil slightly damp. Be sure not to over-water, as this can cause root rot.

Sedge (Carex siderosticha 'Banana Boat') should receive 4-6 hours of direct sunlight each day in order to thrive. This will ensure the plant remains healthy and vigorous. If the sedge is becoming overgrown, more aggressive pruning may be needed. Trim off the longest stems back to just a few inches instead of shearing the top. Over time, this will help to control the size of the sedge and promote new, healthy growth.
