育て方ガイド

💧

水やり

Pink (Dianthus 'Paint The Town Red') should be watered once every 7-10 days. Plant in well-drained soil that contains plenty of organic material. Water thoroughly until moisture comes out of the bottom of the pot and allow the top inch of soil to dry out before watering again. The amount of water needed will depend on the type of soil and how well it drains. Plants in sandy soil will need more frequent, but lighter, watering than those in clay soil. Avoid overwatering and avoid watering in the evening as this can lead to fungal problems.

☀️

日当たり

The pink Dianthus 'Paint The Town Red' plant will thrive in full sunlight, ideally 5 to 6 hours per day. The best times of day to provide full sunlight for this particular species are between 10am and 4pm. Any less exposure than this will likely result in stunted blooming and overall weaker plant growth. If possible, try to avoid providing sunlight at night as this can have a detrimental effect on flower production.

Pruning for Dianthus 'Paint The Town Red' should be done in early spring, anytime between late February and late April. To keep the plant looking full and robust, prune back to about 5 or 6 inches from the base of the plant at this time. In subsequent years, simply remove any faded and withered flowers to encourage further blooming. To further encourage re-blooming, you can also shear the plant up to half of its original height in summer.
