Silver lace vine (Fallopia baldschuanica 'Lemon Lace') requires frequent watering to look its best. It should be watered thoroughly and deeply every 3 to 4 days during the active growing season, allowing the soil to dry out slightly in between waterings. During hot weather, Silver lace may need water daily. In winter, watering can be reduced to once a week or less, depending on how wet the soil is.

Silver lace vine (Fallopia baldschuanica 'Lemon Lace') prefers full sunlight for most of the day. It can tolerate partial shade, but the plant will be more vigorous and more likely to flower if it gets 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. It should be placed in an area where morning and afternoon sun will reach it. Silver lace vine does not do well in deep shade.

Silver Lace Vine should be pruned twice a year. In the late winter or early spring, prune back the vine to promote strong, healthy growth. Remove any dead, weak, or damaged stems and cut the plant back to just above a healthy bud. In the summer, perform light shaping pruning by removing any dead or wilted leaves and spent flowers. This will also keep the size of the plant from getting too large and will encourage more blooms. Don’t be afraid to be aggressive with the pruning, as Silver Lace Vines generally respond well to it.
