Frequently Asked Questions About Using HeySproutly
Quick answers for plant identification, saved photos, safety information, account settings, and privacy.
The identification result is not accurate. What should I do?+
Our identification tool analyzes a single picture. If the result is inaccurate, you can try the following:
- Adjust the shooting angle or distance, making sure the camera is clearly focused on the plant.
- Retake the photo in a well-lit environment, capturing key parts like leaves and flowers.
- If you know the correct name of the plant, look for an option like "Correct Result" or a similar feature on the result page to enter the name manually.
- If results remain inaccurate after several attempts, contact us at [email protected] and provide a photo of the plant.
Does the app only accept newly taken pictures, or can I select from my album?+
Both ways work. You can either use the camera to take a new picture of a plant you just found, or select a previously saved plant photo from your mobile device gallery for identification.
Can you tell me if a plant is edible or poisonous?+
The identification result page will provide relevant toxicity or edibility information. Please be aware that plant toxicity is directly related to personal health. Never try any unfamiliar plant without professional guidance. Safety is the most important thing.
How do I know if this plant is a weed?+
HeySproutly can identify common weeds. If the identified plant is considered invasive or an unwanted weed in most regions, a relevant tip will be shown on the result page, possibly along with simple management suggestions.
How can I view my identification history?+
You can view all your identification records by tapping the corresponding button in the top right corner of the app home page.
How do I share my identification result with friends?+
We are glad you want to share. Here is how:
- Open HeySproutly and go to the "Profile" or "Me" section.
- Find the plant picture or record you want to share.
- Tap the "Share" button below the picture.
- Select the channel you want to share it to, such as Messages or social media.
Can I use HeySproutly offline?+
HeySproutly requires a network connection to access the plant database for identification. When offline or with an unstable connection, you can take photos using your phone camera. Once the connection is restored, open HeySproutly and select those photos from your album to identify.
Do I need to register an account to use it?+
No registration is required. After downloading and opening HeySproutly, you can directly use the identification feature for free. However, we still recommend you register an account using an email address. The benefit of doing this is that if you change or lose your device, you can log in to your account and retrieve your saved plant collections and identification history.
How do I edit my profile?+
If you have registered an account, you can update it by following these steps:
- Go to the "Profile" page.
- Tap the "Settings" icon in the top right corner.
- Tap "Profile". Here you can change your avatar, nickname, and other information.
Some feature is not working. What should I do?+
First, try reinstalling the HeySproutly application. Reinstalling usually resolves most temporary technical issues. If the problem persists, contact us at [email protected] with a brief description of the issue you encountered.
How do I delete my account?+
Please note: After deleting your account, all your plant data, collections, and identification history saved under this account will be permanently erased and cannot be recovered. Please proceed with caution.
If you confirm you want to delete your account, the usual path is:
- Go to the "Profile" page.
- Scroll to the bottom, find "Delete Account", tap it, and follow the prompts.
Is my personal information safe?+
We take your privacy very seriously. Although HeySproutly needs access to your photo album to allow you to select photos for identification, we never process or upload any photos without your explicit authorization. Please rest assured that we will never share your personal information with any third party.
