Pflegeleitfaden

💧

Gießen

Tickseed requires regular watering in order to remain healthy, especially during the growing season. During the summer, it is best to water this plant approximately once to twice a week, making sure that the soil is saturated (but not flooded!) each time. In the wintertime, watering should be reduced to about once a month, or whenever the soil starts to dry out. Additionally, it should be misted with a light spray of water occasionally.

☀️

Licht

Tickseed plants require a moderate amount of sunlight to bloom, and should be planted in areas that receive full sun, or 6 or more hours of direct sunlight a day. Morning sun is ideal; afternoon shade is also beneficial. Avoid planting your Tickseed in deep shade, as it will not flower properly without enough light. Evenly provide your Tickseed with bright light throughout the growing season for best flowering.

Schnitt

Tickseed (Coreopsis 'Pinwheel') should be pruned twice a year, once in the early spring and once in late summer or early fall. During the spring pruning, gently remove the dead, diseased, or otherwise damaged stems and foliage as needed to tidy the plant and promote healthier growth. For the late summer/early fall pruning, make sure to remove any seedpods or other spent blooms. Finally, at the end of the second pruning season, cut the plants back to 4-6" from the ground (depending on the size of the plant) to encourage stronger and more robust growth for the coming season.
